In September, I became a member of a "Cookbook Club" at home on Martha's Vineyard. The club consists of a dynamic group of women, some who I knew previously, some who I didn't. The idea is that every 6 weeks, we collectively pick a cookbook, individually absorb it and pick a recipe or two to make, and get together at one members house (each time someone volunteers their space) to share our dishes and discuss the book selected.

I was excited about this club for a number of reasons, among them to meet some new members of the community, and another that I love food and cooking and always am curious about new cookbooks. This gave me the push I needed to check out some new books and become more adventurous with my cooking.

It just so happened that at the first meeting, I found out that the following meeting, in November, would be photographed by the New York Times for an upcoming article in the Food Section about our club, written by the wonderful Erin Ryerson, a fellow islander. The article follows.
